Hi everyone,
I’ve seen this tag around (both on Youtube and on blogs) and I love the look of it! I’m a huge Harry Potter fan so this seems perfect for me. In this tag there is a list of spells and each has a related question. This was so much fun to write! I’m not sure who exactly started this tag as I’ve seen so many different versions around. If you know, please let me know!
I’m not going to specifically tag anybody to do this as I would rather everyone do it if they want to. Enjoy!
#1 Expecto Patronum
(A childhood book connected to good memories)
Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian
This is such an emotional book and one that I remember reading a lot when I was younger. Although the book is not particularly happy all the way through, it does have a happy ending and I associate it with happy times!
#2 Expelliarmus
(A book that took you by surprise)
The Witchfinder’s Sister by Beth Underdown
I really wasn’t excpecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I’ll be honest and say that I bought this book because it was quite cheap on Amazon and I fancied reading something else other than classics. I enjoyed it though!
#3 Prior Incantato
(The last book you read)
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
One of my favourite books!
#4 Alohomora
(Book that introduced you to a genre you had not considered before)
Dracula by Bram Stoker – horror
I’d say that Dracula and Frankenstein both equally inspired me to want to read more horror and gothic books.
#5 Riddikulus
(Funny book you’ve read)
Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding
I remember getting this book out from the library when I was younger (probably a bit too young for reading this) but I absolutely loved it! Such a cozy read.
#6 Sonorus
(Book you think everybody should know about)
1984 by George Orwell / Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell
I’m cheating a little bit here but both these books had equal impact on me and I couldn’t decide on which I deem to be more important.
#7 Obliviate
(Book or spoiler you would like to forget having read)
A Song of Ice and Fire
Not because I dislike the series but just because I wish I had read the books before watching the TV show and not the other way round. I definitely love these books!
#8 Imperio
(Book you had to read for school)
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
This actually ended up being one of my favourite books!
#9 Crucio
(Book that was painful to read)
Les Misรฉrables by Victor Hugo
I did it enjoy it in the end, it was just veeeerrryyy long and sometimes difficult to understand.
#10 Avada Kedavra
(Book that could kill (interpret as you will!))
The Colour Purple by Alice Walker
I interpreted this as a book that was emotional and difficult to read at times. It’s such a beautifully and truthfully written story and I would highly recommend you read it if you haven’t. Definitely a life-changing read.
Thanks for reading! Remember I tag everyone who wants to do this!

To this day I haven’t done a tag and this one sounds lovely! I’m a Potterhead as well, I should really do this one before Christmas though. Merciful Gods, Les Mis is a brick, I started it on Kindle a couple years ago but I’m not sure if that medium is good for this book. Are you one of the folks that do annual rereads of the series by chance?

Please do it! I’d love to see your answers.
Les Mis was a mission and a half but I enjoyed it in the end!
Yes absolutely, already can’t wait for my HP re-read in 2019! Do you do annual re-reads too?

Definitely will do. I’ll give it another go eventually, too good to leave down. Oh, I wish. I don’t think I can read them right after the other, I started this year but I’m stuck on The Goblet of Fire (my least favourite) however I got the audio to get me through. It’ll run into 2019. Those books are something else, and I see something new every time.

I know what you mean. Every time I read them, I feel like it’s the first time. I still get so excited to read them all! ๐

Also, I stayed away from the show for that same reason ๐

Loved your answers! Kind of forgotten how much I used to love Jacqueline Wilson as a child. Double Act was one of my faves! ๐
